Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday: A 5-Day Plan for a Small Digital Product Shop
Black Friday to Cyber Monday, day by day: what to post and send from Thanksgiving to Monday, built on 2025 online spending data for each day.

Don't spread your effort evenly across the five days — put the most into Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and keep Thanksgiving, Saturday and Sunday light. In 2025, US shoppers spent about $11.8 billion online on Black Friday and $14.25 billion on Cyber Monday, against roughly $6 billion on each of the other three days (Adobe Analytics). For a one-person shop, that means two "push" days and three "presence" days.
This year those five days are Thursday 26 November to Monday 30 November 2026. Here is what each one is for.
What the five days looked like in 2025
Added together, the five days come to $44.25bn (6.4 + 11.8 + 5.8 + 6.0 + 14.25). Adobe reported Cyber Week as $44.2bn, up 7.7% — the small difference is rounding in the daily figures.
Two more numbers worth knowing before you plan:
Phones dominate. Adobe reported that 56.4% of online holiday-season transactions happened on a phone — and 61.6% of Thanksgiving Day online sales. If your product page, checkout and download don't work well on a phone, fix that before you write a single promotion.
People shop online more than in store over this weekend. The National Retail Federation's survey estimated 202.9 million people shopped over the 2025 Thanksgiving weekend, with 134.9 million shopping online and 129.5 million in store (some did both).
These are totals for all US online retail, mostly physical goods from big retailers. They show when people are buying, not how much a small digital shop will sell. Use them for timing, not for forecasting.
The 5-day plan
Thursday 26 November — Thanksgiving: soft open
Goal: be visible, not loud.
Switch your offer on in the morning (US time — most of your Black Friday buyers are in the US time zones).
One short post and, if you have a list, one short email: "My Black Friday offer is open early — here's what it is." No countdown, no pressure.
Check the whole buying flow on your phone: product page → bag → checkout → download. Adobe's 61.6% mobile share for Thanksgiving Day is the reason.
Friday 27 November — Black Friday: push day one
Goal: your biggest send of the week.
Morning: the main email and the main post. Lead with what the product does for the buyer, then the offer.
Pin the post to the top of your profiles.
Afternoon: one follow-up post that answers the most common question about the product (what's inside, who it's for).
Evening: reply to every comment and message. On a small account, replies are the promotion.
Saturday 28 November — Small Business Saturday: the story day
Goal: remind people a real person runs this shop.
One post about who you are and why you made the product. Small Business Saturday is the day buyers are primed to choose a small seller.
No new email unless you have something genuinely new to say.
Rest. This is a light day by the numbers ($5.8bn in 2025, under half of Black Friday).
Sunday 29 November — the quiet prep day
Goal: set up Monday.
Write and schedule Monday's email and posts now, not on Monday morning.
One light post: a behind-the-scenes or a buyer question answered.
Check what sold, what got clicks, and what got questions — Monday's message should answer the questions.
Monday 30 November — Cyber Monday: push day two (and last call)
Goal: the biggest online day of the year, and your deadline.
Morning: "Last day" email and post. State exactly when the offer ends, with the time zone.
Afternoon: one reminder post.
Evening (a few hours before the end): a final short reminder.
Actually end the offer when you said you would. A deadline that moves teaches your audience to wait next year.
The checklist to finish before Thanksgiving
Do these in the weeks before, not during:
The offer is decided and the product page shows it
The full purchase works on a phone, from page to download
Every post and email for the five days is written (Thursday and Friday scheduled)
One "about me" post saved for Saturday
The end time is written down, with the time zone
If you mention "Black Friday prices", the regular price is real and was actually charged before

FAQ
When is Black Friday and Cyber Monday in 2026? US Thanksgiving is Thursday 26 November 2026, so Black Friday is Friday 27 November, Small Business Saturday is 28 November and Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November. The five days from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday are often called Cyber Week or the Cyber 5.
Which day is biggest for online sales: Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Cyber Monday. In 2025, Adobe Analytics reported $14.25 billion in US online spending on Cyber Monday against $11.8 billion on Black Friday. Thanksgiving Day, Saturday and Sunday each came in around $6 billion. These are totals for all US online retail, so they show timing, not what any one small shop will sell.
Should I run my offer for the whole five days or just one day? For a small shop, running it across all five days with two clear push days usually makes sense: Black Friday and Cyber Monday carry the most online spending, while Thursday, Saturday and Sunday are lighter. Ella Wealth Community's plan is to open softly on Thanksgiving, push on Friday and Monday, and end firmly on Monday night.
What is Small Business Saturday? It's the Saturday after Thanksgiving, set aside to encourage people to shop with small and independent businesses. In 2026 it falls on 28 November. For a one-person digital shop it's a good day for a personal post about who you are and why you made your product, rather than another hard sell.
Do I need a mobile-friendly checkout for Black Friday? Yes. Adobe reported that 56.4% of US online transactions over the 2025 holiday season happened on a phone, and 61.6% of Thanksgiving Day online sales. Before the week starts, buy your own product on your phone, from the product page to the download, and fix anything that's slow or confusing.
How many emails should I send during Cyber Week? There's no rule that fits every list. A simple pattern for a small list is one email on Thanksgiving, one on Black Friday, none on Saturday unless you have news, and a "last day" email on Cyber Monday with a short final reminder before the end. Send fewer if your readers start unsubscribing.
This article describes a method, not a result. Spending figures are for US online retail as a whole and don't predict sales for any individual shop. Rules on discount and "was" pricing vary by country — check your local consumer law before advertising a reduction.
